Subject: Upgrade 69 to 71 fails

I get a *lot* of messages saying print() on closed filehandle $fh at /tmp/perlbrew line 857. Then: perlbrew is installed: ~/perl5/perlbrew/bin/perlbrew NOTICE: /home/njh/perl5/perlbrew/etc/perlbrew.fish already exists and not updated. perlbrew root (~/perl5/perlbrew) is initialized. Append the following piece of code to the end of your ~/.bash_profile and start a new shell, perlbrew should be up and fully functional from there: source ~/perl5/perlbrew/etc/bashrc Simply run `perlbrew` for usage details. Happy brewing! So it hasn't noticed that it's failed either!

I've just encountered the same problem trying to go from 0.71 to 0.72 but in my case running with root allowed the upgrade to complete and there were no warnings. I suspect this is due to me messing up the permissions myself at some point, e.g. installing or running as root before, or due to mixing a vendor perlbrew, Debian 0.67, with one in my homedir In either case I'm doing some house cleaning now and so I just nuked my ~/Perl 5 and am going to start again but if you'd like to preserve yours I suggest checking your permissions under that dir Regards Peter Roberts
