Dear Supporter The config file before running test.pl is: [SECTION] Entry1: Value1 and after running the script with def_gap => 0 is [SECTION] Entry1: Value1 NewEntry: NewValue I expected that the empty line after Entry1: Value1 is not written out when setting def_gap => 0. But this is not the case on my system. Do I oversee anything? I am using perl -v This is perl, v5.10.1 built for sun4-solaris-thread-multi-64 (with 2 registered patches, see perl -V for more detail) Copyright 1987-2009, Larry Wall Binary build 1006 provided by ActiveState Show quoted textBuilt Aug 24 2009 13:42:31 using the latest Config::Std module perl -MConfig::Std -e 'print "$Config::Std::VERSION\n"' 0.901 on uname -a SunOS tbcompriv1 5.10 Generic_142900-04 sun4u sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise Many thanks for your help Regards Markus
