I am trying to install XML-XPath on a new (pristine) installation of Ubuntu 12.04 with the standard: sudo cpan install XML::XPath but the installation is failing, with the reporting ending in: Result: FAIL Failed 35/35 test programs. 0/0 subtests failed. make: *** [test_dynamic] Error 2 MSERGEANT/XML-XPath-1.13.tar.gz one dependency not OK (XML::Parser); additionally test harness failed /usr/bin/make test -- NOT OK //hint// to see the cpan-testers results for installing this module, try: reports MSERGEANT/XML-XPath-1.13.tar.gz Running make install make test had returned bad status, won't install without force Failed during this command: TODDR/XML-Parser-2.41.tar.gz : make NO MSERGEANT/XML-XPath-1.13.tar.gz : make_test NO one dependency not OK (XML::Parser); additionally test harness failed root@ubuntu1:/backups# perl -v This is perl 5, version 14, subversion 2 (v5.14.2) built for x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi (with 53 registered patches, see perl -V for more detail) root@ubuntu1:/backups# uname -a Linux ubuntu1 3.2.0-24-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 16:52:17 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Paulo Ney

Anyway, the issue here is that XML::Parser could not be built — nothing XML-XPath can do about it.

Hi, Closing the issue as it is not related to XML::XPath. As SREZIC pointed out this is trying to install xml-parser but couldn't do it for some reason. I suggest try build package for your OS. Best Regards, Mohammad S Anwar
