This is my source for data: http://www.statoids.com/ugb.html. It seems to be the most accxurate one I could find. They use: Barnsley for South Yorkshire Bradford for West Yorkshire

Barnsley is a town in South Yorkshire which also contains Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield; Bradford is a city in West Yorkshire which also contains Wakefield and Leeds. I know, I live in Barnsley! Regards, -Nigel

Hi Nigel, I have no expertise in geographical naming, I'm just providing the Perl interface to it. The ISO 3166-2 codes may not corrospond to popular usage, they are just what the standard specifies. So I'm guessing 'South Yorkshire' may be needed in when sending a letter to Barnsley? The sub countries seem to specify a smaller geographic region than the 'Old Country' divisions such as 'South Yorkshire' If you think the ISO 3166-2 codes are wrong I suggest you contact the maintainer ot the Statoids site, http://www.statoids.com/contact.html as he has the knowledge in this area. His last update for UK was in December 2011. You can also purchase the ISO data online if you want to go back to the source (I don't have a copy) Regards, Kim
There is no ISO 3166-2 mandated code for West or South Yorkshire. So I am not able to include these as sub countries. If this is still a problem, suggest it be taken up with the publishers of the original data.
