Subject: Domain server for .net returns wrong results with prefix

In Net::Whois::Raw::Data there is this prefix configured: '' => 'domain ', However using it on "" does return this kind of message: We have no entry for domain "domain" This clearly indicates that they do not make use of a prefix anymore, especially since omitting it gives the correct result.

Could not confirm that. Try to use: whois -n -h 'domain' (correct answer) and whois -n -h '' [Querying] [] Whois Server Version 2.0 Domain names in the .com and .net domains can now be registered with many different competing registrars.
