Dear Jerry, first of all many thanks providing the great module(s)! My mail is only a request for an enhancement to make reference to functions (methods) also 'sharable' to threads. For a single threaded script I created a 'switch-board' of sorts to call the some function associated with a certain key. This simplifies code maintenance a bit, cause one hasn't has to take care for constructs like 'if ( $var eq ...) { &func_1 } etc...' Do you plan to extend the threads::shared module to support into this direction? For the time being I can live with the workaround above. Would it take much work to implement this feature? If you are talking about passing code references via shared variables: my $shared_code_ref :shared = \&func; there are no plans to support this capability that I know of. Whether or not it is even possible to do this is beyond my understanding. If you are so inclined you can bring this discussion up on the Perl5 Porters Mailing List <>.
