Subject: wish: support for sitemap index files when 50,000 entries or 10 MB is exceeded
Download (untitled) / with headers
text/plain 538b
The Sitemap Protocol has limits on how large sitemaps.xml file can be: No more than 50,000 entries, and no more than 10 MB in size [1]. 1. http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.php#index Larger sites are supported by breaking up the sitemap into several files, and then having an index file which references the other files. Ideally, this tool would automatically handle this work for the user, by automatically detecting when the limit would be exceeded, and then generating the new files and index file entries automatically.
