Environment: This is perl 5, version 12, subversion 1 (v5.12.1) built for MSWin32-x86-multi-thread (with 3 registered patches, see perl -V for more detail) Binary build 1201 [292674] provided by ActiveState http://www.ActiveState.com Built May 14 2010 00:34:27 Win Vista SP2 Win nmake 1.5 xbase 1.07 Show quoted text
_______________________________________________ Problem description: 'perl Makefile.PL' works fine. But here's a transcript of the 'nmake' run:
_______ c:\Users\jack\AppData\Local\Temp\Xbase-1.07>nmake Microsoft (R) Program Maintenance Utility Version 1.50 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corp 1988-94. All rights reserved. syntax error at -e line 1, near "'755') " Missing right curly or square bracket at -e line 1, at end of line Execution of -e aborted due to compilation errors. NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe' : return code '0xff' Stop.
______ Then in Makefile I changed "NOECHO = @" to "NOECHO =" in order to see what's up. When I re-run 'nmake' it works fine, apparently. And so does 'nmake install', apparently. ppm now says Xbase 1.07 is installed. (I haven't actually used it yet.)
