Hi gregor, This test was likely failing because jabber.org was down. I'm currently exploring ways to make the test suite less dependent on external, non-mocked resources. I'll leave this bug open until I come up with a solution. Thanks, Darian

Yeah, that was probably the reason. Having a possibility (via some environment variable) to run the tests without network access would be nice in general. I just see that we habe a patch in our svn repository (not yet uploaded to the Debian archive); I'm attaching it for your convenience. Show quoted text

Gregor, I've applied this patch and it's available on github. A release will be made soon. Is the NO_NETWORK environment variable a standard part of the Debian Perl packaging process? Thanks, Darian

Great, thanks alot! Show quoted text

Unfortunately it's not really standardized, whoever writes the patch uses some fancy variable name that comes to their mind :) A quick grep shows at least: DEBIAN_BUILD HAS_INTERNET NOINTERNET NONETWORK NO_NETWORK Grepping through upstream test files shows among other stuff: TEST_INTERNET I_CAN_HAS_INTERNETS HAS_INTERNET So it looks like there is also no standard on the CPAN side :) Cheers, gregor -- .''`. http://info.comodo.priv.at/ -- GPG key IDs: 0x8649AA06, 0x00F3CFE4 : :' : Debian GNU/Linux user, admin, & developer - http://www.debian.org/ `. `' Member of VIBE!AT & SPI, fellow of Free Software Foundation Europe `- NP: Bettina Wegner: die rose
