0.23 failed all tests in a different way. Probably best to test on installed version, then 5.8.8, then latest perl-maint. Testing all three is a great way to surface subtle, minor challenges. Mark Hedges via RT wrote: Show quoted text

I saw the same issues with 0.23 and 0.24; now with 0.25_2 I can confirm that it works OK here with perl-5.8.8 (built with gcc-4.1.2) on Solaris 8 / Sparc, Solaris 10 / x86 and RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0 x86/x86_64. There seems to be another RT against 0.25 about a memory leak - I haven't tested for that, but I did not see any obvious problem either. HTH, Marek
