Subject: ~/.minicpanrc is useless on Win32

text/plain 674b
Most people on Windows don't have an easy way to get to their home directory. Windows doesn't recognise "dot" to mean "hidden". Most people on Windows have no idea what the point of an "rc" file is. There is no possible way to associate an editor to a file without an extension. All of these things make ~/.minicpanrc a silly place to put a hand-edited config file (on Windows). In fact, why are we hand-editing at all? Why not just have a -s flag that "saves" the minicpan configuration for the current invocation to a file that ISN'T expected to be typically edited. That also means you won't need to do the missing documentation for the .minicpanrc file format. :)

I think this is not true. The rest of your comments are reasonable. I will attempt something to correct this in the short term, but not this week. -- rjbs

This is a wishlist item, if it was fixed by YAPC::NA so I can roll official minicpan support into the next Strawberry release, I'd be happy. Adam K Ricardo SIGNES via RT wrote: Show quoted text

The only part of this still likely to be done is zero configuration by default (and maybe --save) which are in different tickets. I'm closing this specific ticket. -- rjbs
