Hi. I'm trying to install XML::Simple on perl 5.8.8 on debian, and getting test failures. I've attached the install log and the output of perl -V.

This is not a bug in XML::Simple, but a bug in XML::SAX::PurePerl which is the default parser library on your system: http://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=15891 Even if XML::SAX::PurePerl didn't have this bug, you still wouldn't want to use it for performance reasons. If you install XML::SAX::Expat, you'll get faster parsing and a clean install of XML::Simple.
