A debian user expresses the following wishlist: --- Inasmuch as PostgreSQL has a cursor concept, it would be most excellent if libdbd-pg-perl supported it. The current implementation becomes problematic when selecting large amounts of data. --- Cf http://bugs.debian.org/368654
FWIW, there is an example in the docs of a way to do this. It's an ugly way, granted, but it works.

For posterity, people interested in this may also be interested in: #93266: DBD::Pg to set the fetch size https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=93266#txn-1346070 (My motivation for using cursors is just to deal with the fetch size.)
