Makefile.PL seems to look in /opt/rt3/lib but doesn't find RT.pm, which is there as should be, and which does define $RT::LocalPath ... I don't know anything about the new Module::Install mechanism, nor RTx, so I'm afraid this is the best I can do. RT Version 3.0.9 on Apache 1.3. Perl -V is below. I'll try this on Apache 2 with a later perl and RT 3.5 in a moment, and append to this ticket. [root@dave11 RT-Integration-SVN-0.03]# perl Makefile.PL Cannot find the location of RT.pm that defines $RT::LocalPath in: inc /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/ /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /u sr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/loca l/lib/perl5/site_perl . /opt/rt3/lib /opt/lib/rt3 /opt/lib /usr/local/r t3/lib /usr/local/lib/rt3 /usr/local/lib /home/rt3/lib /home/lib/rt3 /h ome/lib /usr/rt3/lib /usr/lib/rt3 /usr/lib /sw/rt3/lib /sw/lib/rt3 /sw/ lib Path to your RT.pm: /opt/rt3/lib/ Cannot find the location of RT.pm that defines $RT::LocalPath in: inc /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/ /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /u sr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/loca l/lib/perl5/site_perl . /opt/rt3/lib /opt/lib/rt3 /opt/lib /usr/local/r t3/lib /usr/local/lib/rt3 /usr/local/lib /home/rt3/lib /home/lib/rt3 /h ome/lib /usr/rt3/lib /usr/lib/rt3 /usr/lib /sw/rt3/lib /sw/lib/rt3 /sw/ lib /opt/rt3/lib/ /opt/rt3/lib//rt3/lib /opt/rt3/lib//lib/rt3 Path to your RT.pm: /opt/rt3/lib/RT.pm Cannot find the location of RT.pm that defines $RT::LocalPath in: inc /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/ /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /u sr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/loca l/lib/perl5/site_perl . /opt/rt3/lib /opt/lib/rt3 /opt/lib /usr/local/r t3/lib /usr/local/lib/rt3 /usr/local/lib /home/rt3/lib /home/lib/rt3 /h ome/lib /usr/rt3/lib /usr/lib/rt3 /usr/lib /sw/rt3/lib /sw/lib/rt3 /sw/ lib /opt/rt3/lib/ /opt/rt3/lib//rt3/lib /opt/rt3/lib//lib/rt3 /opt/rt3/ lib/RT.pm /opt/rt3/lib/RT.pm/rt3/lib /opt/rt3/lib/RT.pm/lib/rt3 Path to your RT.pm: perl -V: [root@dave11 RT-Integration-SVN-0.03]# perl -V Summary of my perl5 (revision 5 version 8 subversion 7) configuration: Platform: osname=linux, osvers=2.4.21-32.0.1.el, archname=i686-linux uname='linux dave11 2.4.21-32.0.1.el #1 tue may 17 18:01:37 edt 2005 i686 i686 i386 gnulinux ' config_args='' hint=recommended, useposix=true, d_sigaction=define usethreads=undef use5005threads=undef useithreads=undef usemultiplicity=undef useperlio=define d_sfio=undef uselargefiles=undef usesocks=undef use64bitint=undef use64bitall=undef uselongdouble=undef usemymalloc=n, bincompat5005=undef Compiler: cc='cc', ccflags ='-fno-strict-aliasing -pipe - I/usr/local/include -I/usr/include/gdbm', optimize='-O2', cppflags='-fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -I/usr/local/include - I/usr/include/gdbm' ccversion='', gccversion='2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96- 122)', gccosandvers='linux7' intsize=4, longsize=4, ptrsize=4, doublesize=8, byteorder=1234 d_longlong=define, longlongsize=8, d_longdbl=define, longdblsize=12 ivtype='long', ivsize=4, nvtype='double', nvsize=8, Off_t='off_t', lseeksize=4 alignbytes=4, prototype=define Linker and Libraries: ld='cc', ldflags =' -L/usr/local/lib' libpth=/usr/local/lib /lib /usr/lib libs=-lnsl -lgdbm -ldb -ldl -lm -lcrypt -lutil -lc perllibs=-lnsl -ldl -lm -lcrypt -lutil -lc libc=/lib/libc-2.3.2.so, so=so, useshrplib=true, libperl=libperl.so gnulibc_version='2.3.2' Dynamic Linking: dlsrc=dl_dlopen.xs, dlext=so, d_dlsymun=undef, ccdlflags='-Wl,-E - Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7/CORE' cccdlflags='-fpic', lddlflags='-shared -L/usr/local/lib' Characteristics of this binary (from libperl): Compile-time options: Built under linux Compiled at Sep 16 2005 11:04:03 %ENV: PERL5LIB="/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/" PERL5LIBOLD="/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/" @INC: /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/ /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl . It might be permissions. And it might be an RT 3.2 requirement.

Either way I guess it'll go into the next release, you're such good ppl :-)

Sorry, no. I'm trying to say that I think you've done something wrong. --

Could be, but it didn't look like it. I did what I was told. If it requires a version of RT greater than I have, then that is my fault: it can hardly check the version if it can't find the module. I wish I put my RT in my site_lib. As for permissions: I think not, but now might be a time to mention that every install of RT requires me to manually set the permissions on the Mason cache directory. thanks lee
