Since the AnyEvent codebase and its author are actively hostile to other event systems (up to and including adding hard-coded die() calls to prevent the use of other cpan modules in the same process) having this as a dependency makes it unsafe to use in Mojo or IO::Async based projects (whereas Mojo and IO::Async and POE all co-operate in a single process fine) Please can we have a way to use the relevant logic directly so we can integrate it with non-AnyEvent cpan code and move the 'dedicated AnyEvent programs only' parts out to an external module for people who're willing to commit to only using AnyEvent? -- Matt S Trout - Shadowcat Systems - Perl consulting with a commit bit and a clueEmail me now on mst (at) shadowcat.co.uk and let's chat about how our CPAN commercial support, training and consultancy packages could help your team.
