See attached... Running on Strawberry Perl in Win 7. History: Since I can't make "pp" to work at all by itself on Strawberry Perl anymore (it had used to, but now doesn't), I've recently begun using "" obtained from Perl Monks to create my *.exe files from *.pl. And an *.exe made that way seems to work fine so far every time. But it puts in the Camel icon, which for years now I've replaced with one of my own (using originally the -icon option for pp, which nice feature has since been removed). Thus I came to try "" for that trick. So, for my working-just-fine *.exe created by "" I am wanting to change the icon by your command... -i foo.ico foo.exe ...and indeed the icon is changed. And the program seems to work ... HOWEVER ... every run reports errors on the console, like so... Format error: bad signature: #### at offset #### in file C:\users... ...and does that three times on each run. Here's hoping the issue is not too exotic (Strawberry) to merit a fix. It was REALLY a nice little touch, being able to change the icon. It served as kind of a flag to IT here that I wrote that, *.exe and there's no worry that Microsoft won't verify it, blah, blah... I'd be sharing the file I ran it on, but that's company IP. Likewise the data files which that file was parsing were customer IP. I could work up some other example and send if you need.
