Subject: authors with special characters

t/20_authors_with_special_characters.t .. 1/26 "\x{00e9}" does not map to ascii at /opt/perl-5.20.2/lib/site_perl/5.20.2/ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm line 1183. "\x{00e9}" does not map to ascii at /opt/perl-5.20.2/lib/site_perl/5.20.2/ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm line 1183. "\x{00e9}" does not map to ascii at /opt/perl-5.20.2/lib/site_perl/5.20.2/ExtUtils/MakeMaker.pm line 1187. t/20_authors_with_special_characters.t .. ok EU:MM is running into trouble because it is writing the file with :encoding(locale), so it can't be relied upon to handle non-ASCII characters. The "does not map to" warning indicates a real problem that probably ought to be treated as an error: one cannot rely on reading back from the file the same data that was meant to be written to it. Either EU:I should avoid passing non-ASCII characters to this part of EU:MM, or EU:MM should switch to some means of storage that reliably can handle them. -zefram
