For a large string of xml, it would be more efficient to pass it to the load_xml and parse_string methods as a scalar reference.

Thanks for the feature request, and I'm terribly sorry for the late response. This was implemented in XML-LibXML-1.98 which was just uploaded to CPAN and is also available in the bitbucket.org repository. Please test and comment if there's any problem. Regards, -- Shlomi Fish
