Additionally, by using test.pl instead of t/*.t failures are not visible at cpantesters, so http://matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=Tie-Hash-Layered+0.9 looks quite green in spite of the existing test failures.

Probably it worked only until 5.6.x. I clicked a little bit on cpantesters test reports, and I found only (hidden) fail reports for perl 5.8.0 and later.

It seems that the failing test cases are assuming a specific sort order when using each() and keys().
